The purpose of this Association shall be to promote the development and continuation of a more effective Senior Service Corps presence and programming in New York State through actions in the following priority areas:
- Communications: A network system for the exchange of information relevant to the Association shall be developed.
- Legislation: The Association shall review and comment on legislation. The Association shall also suggest its own legislation as necessary and appropriate.
- Policy: The Association shall educate, encourage and assist, as appropriate, public and private, federal, state and local agencies to develop policies in such areas as: standards, programming, funding and organization.
- Orientation and Support: The Association shall seek to orient new directors (defined as the individual responsible for the operation of the project), and to support all directors.
- Focus: The Association continues to maintain the philosophy that it is the volunteer who is served. The Association also recognizes that each volunteer contributes to meeting community needs.
- National Associations: Association members shall be encouraged to become members of their individual national associations in order to maintain effective communication at a national level.
